107th Session of the IOM Council - Second panel discussion on Opportunities for policy development to address climate migration and cross-border disaster displacement

The second panel discussion, on Opportunities for policy development to address climate migration and cross-border disaster displacement (agenda item 13), took place in the afternoon of the second day. The session was moderated by the Deputy Director General and the panelists were: Hans-Joachim Daerr, Ambassador, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations in Geneva, and Chair of the Platform on Disaster Displacement; Walter Kaelin, Adviser to the Chair of the Platform on Disaster Displacement, Professor emeritus of constitutional and international law at the University of Bern Faculty of Law; and Tord Kjellstrom, Professor, Consultant on Environmental and Occupational Health.
