The Panel has met four times: in Geneva, Switzerland (November 2015), in Dakar, Senegal (April 2016), in San José, Costa Rica (December 2016) and in Amman, Jordan (May 2017). Each time, it has met with regional experts in order to feed its reflection. In September 2017, the Global High-Level Panel on Water and Peace launched the final recommendation Report in Geneva and in New York. The Report was then presented at the 2018 World Water Forum in Brasília, 18-23 March 2018.
Discussions have been informed by several Geneva Water Hub Think Tank roundtables reports. This includes one roundtable on “Refugees and Access to Water: Challenges and Responses” on 3 February 2017, to which IOM participated in the persons of Dina Ionesco and Antonio Torres Ortiz. The roundtable led to the publication of a report that you can access here.
