On July 11th 2018, the Steering Group of the Global Plan of Action for Sustainable Energy Solutions in Situations of Displacement (GPA) will hold an expert level meeting and a high-level panel discussion to launch the Global Plan of Action Framework.
During the Expert-level meeting on the morning of July 11th, the members of the Steering Group will inform about the Global Plan of Action and its framework of recommendations in a world café/focus group style meeting and lay out the next steps for translating these recommendations into a work plan with concrete activities. Through five rotating, 15-minute discussion rounds categorized by the five working areas (planning, policy, finance, capacity building, and data), the audience will discuss the recommendations with the authors and indicate priority actions for the humanitarian energy community.
The lunchtime high-level session will present a panel discussion with senior international organization and government members, focused on the need for leaving no one behind and how the Global Plan of Action Framework can be a tool for accelerating progress on sustainable energy solutions in situations of displacement.
Experts from the humanitarian/development and migration communities, members of the diplomatic community, donors and funders, representatives from the private sector and partners from academia are invited to share expertise in the morning working level meeting from 10 am 12:30 pm and attend the panel discussion during lunchtime panel discussion from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
