It is universally accepted that climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity this century. In Kenya, this phenomenon is already unmistakable and intensifying at an alarming rate as is evident from countrywide temperature increases and rainfall irregularity and intensification.

In response to the challenges and opportunities posed by climate change, Kenya has developed this National Climate Change Response Strategy.The vision of the Strategy is for a prosperous and climate change resilient Kenya. The mission is to strengthen and focus nationwide actions towards climate change adaptation and GHG emission mitigation. This will be achieved by ensuring commitment and engagement of all stakeholders while taking into account the vulnerable nature of Kenya’s natural resources and society.
