Planetary Security: Peace and Cooperation in Times of Climate
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands will organise an international conference on “Planetary Security: Peace and Cooperation in Times of Climate Change and Global Environmental Challenges” on 2 and 3 November 2015 at the Peace Palace in The Hague.
The conference will provide an international platform for high level policy makers and experts working on the threats posed to security, stability and development by climate change, environmental degradation and resource scarcity. The intention is to enhance knowledge sharing and international cooperation amongst leading politicians, policy-makers, academics, think tanks and security organisations and to build momentum for more coherent policy and action in this field through this annual event in The Hague.
These annual conferences will help create greater political awareness and wider involvement for implementing an integrated agenda to help strengthen resilience to climate-fragility risks.
