Knowledge Platform on People on the Move in a Changing Climate
This report highlights why and how risk assessments need to become an integral part of urban planning, and presents an original tool that allows local authorities to assess disaster displacement risk in their urban area.
2015 saw the endorsement of the Nansen Initiative Protection Agenda. The Protection Agenda offers States a toolbox to better prevent and prepare for displacement before a disaster strikes. When displacement cannot be avoided, it helps States improve their responses to situations when people are forced to find refuge, within their own country or across a border.
A conversation on the specific patterns of vulnerability of migrant farmworkers in wildfires, COVID19 and other disasters and on measures that can help improve inclusive communication, assistance and engagement to reduce risks.
