36th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly Side-event: The Climate Migration Nexus
In close to two decades, the number of international migrants in Africa has witnessed a sharp increase – and climate change is, among other factors, one of the most significant drivers of migration today. The event is intended to be a relevant contribution to the debate around the climate - migration nexus and to the efforts around global awareness and preparedness.
IOM's Director General is participating in the 36th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly's Side-event titled "The Climate Migration Nexus: How to Respond to Environmental Degradation, Protect People and Uphold the Potential of Migration".
