  • Date
    04 Dec 2023, 13:15pm
  • Location
    Dubai, UAE

Monday, 4 December, 13:15-14:45 UAE Time, SE Room 3

Addressing the impacts of climate change on migration and food security in LDCs, LLDCs, and SIDS is crucial for meaningful global and national policy formulation, planning, and response strategies.

Climate change disproportionately affects the world’s most vulnerable nations, namely the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). These countries face unique climate-related impacts, including extreme weather events, sea-level rise, desertification, and water scarcity, which can have significant implications for migration patterns and human displacement.

Understanding the impacts of climate change on migration in LDCs, LLDCs, and SIDS is crucial for effective national and global policy formulation, planning, and response strategies to support these nations in responding to the impacts of the climate crisis. This side event will governments, experts, policymakers and community leaders to exchange knowledge, experiences, and best practices on the intersection of climate change and migration in the world’s most vulnerable nations.
