Displaced women and girls face heightened risks of gender-based violence, human trafficking, and exploitation, such as modern-day slavery, especially in transit or destination areas. Intersectional discrimination based on social, ethnic, and economic factors further compounds these risks, making an inclusive, gender-focused approach to climate migration crucial for effective and equitable policy solutions.
