-
Date

-
Location
Iraq Pavilion, Blue Zone

Organizer
Government of Iraq
This high-level dialogue, co-organized by the Government of Iraq as the incoming G77+ China Chair and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), aims to delve into the intersections of climate change with development pathways in complex settings such as post-conflict and recovery contexts, and galvanize the deliberations on the roles of human mobility for accelerating adaptation and the just transition to support the priorities and aspirations of the Global South to pursue sustainable development and poverty eradication while meeting their commitments under the Paris Agreement. It will draw on the expertise of a diverse range of stakeholders, including governments, UN agencies, think tanks, multilateral development banks, and representatives from affected communities. Finance will be a key theme of the dialogue in line with the COP29 Presidency’s priorities, and the discussions are expected to feed into the deliberations of the new collective quantified goal on finance.
