Climate change has become one of the most pressing global challenges of our time, with increasingly severe impacts on communities and ecosystems worldwide. Climate migration, the movement of people from areas affected by climate change, is a growing phenomenon that requires urgent attention and action. Advocacy plays a crucial role in raising awareness and driving policy change to support climate migrants and address the root causes of their mobility. For advocacy to happen, civil society organisations, governments and policy makers work together in focusing on crucial issues surrounding climate mobility.
YOUNGO Migration Working Group, in partnership with IOM, organized this event with the goal to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to become effective climate migration advocates. Through interactive discussions and expert presentations, participants will learn about the key advocacy strategies and terminology needed to raise awareness and influence policy around climate migration.
