The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the C40-MCC Global Mayors Task Force on Climate and Migration are inviting you to their Latin America and the Caribbean Climate Week side event on improving climate adaptation and urban resilience in cities across the LAC region. Through bringing together international, regional, and local policymakers to discuss the impacts of climate change on cities in the region and how these impacts affect human mobility, this event will identify gaps and needs at the level of local authorities to manage the effects of climate-related migration and elevate the role of civil society in advancing migrant integration and disaster risk prevention. The event will also serve to localize discussions of global forums, including the International Migration Review Forum, the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC, the Global Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction and the New Urban Agenda at the local level in cities in Latin America and the Caribbean.
