The Capacity for Disaster Reduction Initiative (CADRI) is a global inter-agency partnership that supports countries’ efforts to reduce disaster and climate risks by building their capacity via scoping and assessment missions carried out by a pool of multidisciplinary experts. The CADRI initiative contributes to the implementation of the 2030 Development Agenda and the commitment to Leave No One Behind.

The CADRI Partnership, with the support of the Government of Luxembourg, is launching the innovative CADRI Digital Tool for capacity diagnosis and planning. The CADRI Digital Tool has been designed to support countries in their efforts to strengthen their national and local capacities to reduce disaster and climate related risks. It facilitates the CADRI partners’ process to design, plan and implement capacity diagnosis missions, which can be comprehensive or focused on specific sectors and hazards. The tool and the question bank can also be used independently of a CADRI partners’ mission. The CADRI Digital Tool can be used in both development and humanitarian contexts

In this event, CADRI partners will present their revised methodology and digital tool. They will elaborate on the tool revision process, the added value of the digital features and the integration of key principles such as gender equality and inclusion to leave no one behind. They will highlight its application to preparedness system strengthening and opportunities of the CADRI partners’ approach to strengthen the link between preparedness and anticipatory action.
