Protracted displacement due to disasters, planned relocation and land issues, and the development of a comprehensive migration and environment policy were identified as the key priority areas for PNG. The final day offered ample space to develop a roadmap for policymaking in the priority areas and participants stressed the importance of working across sectors and ministries. The workshop was the fourth policymaker training in the framework of the EU funded MECLEP project, following workshops in Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Kenya earlier this year. The event was co-organized with PNG's Office of Climate Change and Development and co-funded by the IOM Development Fund.
