Climate Resilience for Human Mobility and Affected Communities
The side event will unite diverse stakeholders, including the United Nations and private sector, to explore collaborative efforts for optimizing resource mobilization and improving climate adaptation strategies through cross-sector collaboration, with sustainability at the core. As climate change contributes to reshaping migration patterns as one of the different drivers but also influencing the others with a risk multiplier role, integrated solutions are critical to building resilience and avert, minimize and address displacement.
Engagement of private sector in adaptation is essential. As it relates to migration, this also means respecting the rights of migrant workers, connecting to innovation and the facilitating a transition to a sustainable economy which makes them ideally situated to promote and engage in the development, recognition and transfer of green skills and knowledge.
The panel provides a platform for key stakeholders to engage in open dialogue, and collaboratively address the pressing challenges of climate change. Participants will offer insights on resource mobilization, bridging public-private gaps, and involving migrant communities in climate adaptation efforts. The event will result in actionable ideas for forming effective partnerships and scaling successful models across different regions.
