The aim of the Meeting is to further accelerate the implementation of Sendai Target G, to substantially increase the availability of and access to early warnings. In addition, the event will provide a clearer understanding of resourcing needs for a SADC Emergency Operations Center.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has played an active role in contributing to one of four expert papers related to preparedness and anticipatory action. IOM is also contributing to the outcome statement, which will become a part of the sub-regional submission to the COP27.
Further information regarding the event program will be provided ahead of the Meeting.
