Task Force on Displacement | Environmental Migration Portal

The Executive Committee (Excom) of the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage (WIM) established the Task Force on Displacement in March 2017 to develop recommendations for integrated approaches to avert, minimize and address displacement related to the adverse impacts of climate change, in accordance with the mandate outlined in COP Decision 49, adopted at the twenty-first Conference of the Parties (COP21) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) held in Paris in 2015. Parties of COP24, Katowice, Poland, welcomed the WIM-TFD recommendations. TFD is now at its second mandate, aiming to implement the recommendations.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has been a founding member of the Task Force on Displacement since 2017.
